Colby Road Nursery stands for individual attention to each child, wholehearted commitment and comprehensive child care.
Colby Road Nursery has been established since 1989 and we are a small, private setting located in Crystal Palace between Dulwich Wood Avenue and Gipsy Hill in South London. We are open 50 weeks of the year from 8am - 6pm each week day.
The Principal is Mary Chowdhury who founded the nursery in 1989 and has managed the project for 35 years. The attractive rooms and large garden help to create a happy and warm environment for our children.
We accept children aged 10 months - 3 years and usually expect to have in total 14 children attending on different days in full time and part time patterns.
The curriculum covers the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)(star). The children all have their own individual work folders which parents can see at anytime.
As our nursery is small, we pride ourselves on providing good quality individual care and attention to each child. Our parents are kept well informed of their child's daily routine by way of daily feedback sheets.
We understand that increasing demands are being made on child care facilities, since all parents want the very best for their children, right from their very first learning experiences. In addition, there is now a marked trend towards intellectual education for children, but in our view children also need play and movement so they may get enough exercise, discover their own bodies and have fun!
Our nursery achieves both the balance between excellent learning and play by offering space for moving around, plenty of opportunity for play and various facilities for creative activity. We have a large garden for outdoor play.
Our aim is to support each child with their development.
Our Nursery is located in Crystal Palace, South London. We are inbetween Gipsy Hill and Dulwich. There are very easy transport links from Crystal Palace and also Gipsy Hill station which is a short 2 minute walk away. We are also well located for families in Forest Hill, Upper Norwood and Sydenham.
